Photo: sparkling wine
Sparkling wine can range from crisp, citrusy Prosecco to toasty Champagne to sweet (and red!) Australian sparkling Shiraz to American sparkling wine, which can mimic all of the above. Because the bubbles are crisp and refreshing, sparkling wine is delicious with rich foods (anything fried is perfect), and it’s a good choice as an hors d’oeuvre wine. We also love it as a textural contrast to soup.
