oro blanco

Pronunciation: [OH-roh BLAHN-koh]

Spanish for "white gold," the oro blanco is a pomelo hybrid developed in 1958. This bright yellow fruit is grapefruit-size and has a thick pomelolike rind and a sweet, almost seedless flesh. Choose fruit that's heavy for its size. Store at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, in the refrigerator for up to a month.
